eBay sets fees per site, and in 2026 the gap between the cheapest and most expensive is wider than ever. Private sellers in the UK, France and Italy — and in Germany for domestic sales — now pay no final value fee at all, while a standard eBay.com sale costs about 14%. Below, every eBay site is ranked by what a typical sale in "most categories" actually costs, for private and business sellers.
Fees verified against eBay's official fee pages on 19 October 2026. Checked daily for changes (fee change tracker).
How we ranked them
For each site we took a typical sale of roughly €100 in local currency (e.g. $100, £85, A$170, 430 zł) in the site's default "most categories" rate and added the per-order fee and regulatory fee. International fees, promoted listings and store plans aren't included. Category matters: on many sites electronics are much cheaper and jewellery more expensive — the country calculators show every category.
Private sellers, cheapest first
eBay.com, eBay.ca and eBay.com.au (once over A$25,000 a year) don't distinguish private sellers, so their standard rates are shown.

Business rates are lower than private rates in some markets because many business tables tier down above €990 per item and charge much less on electronics (5–7%).
Countries without their own eBay site
Mexico, Brazil, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, India don't have a local eBay marketplace with its own fees (Singapore and Hong Kong have local sites that charge nothing, but most sales happen on international sites). Sellers there list on eBay.com, eBay.co.uk or eBay.de, pay that site's fees and add an international fee based on where they live — for example 1.35% in Japan, 1.55% in Mexico and Brazil, and 0% to the eurozone from Sweden, Denmark or Norway.
What this means for you
- Selling your own things in Europe? eBay.co.uk, eBay.fr, eBay.it and (domestically) eBay.de are free for private sellers.
- Reselling as a business? Compare category rates, not headline rates — a laptop costs 5% to sell on eBay.fr but 13.6% on eBay.com without a store.
- Selling across borders? Within the eurozone, EU sites charge no international fee; from the UK, business sellers pay 1.05% to the eurozone.
